Importance of Travelling in Human Life

Wanting to break free was and will always be a desirable status in our troubled minds. But why travelling is so important in human life? And who doesn’t want to feel free and travel, especially in times where obligation grows big and flexibility grow small. So small it seems sometimes invisible.

Time is so valuable, and through that we get more vulnerable so should make the most out of what we do have. Money is the name of the game and the privilege of feeling some sense of freedom lies upon one’s ability to finance this freedom desire. Either going on ski vacay or enjoying some island life for few weeks, will cost money and money is hard to get. Life is pressing in each direction. Stress.

It amazes me to find out just how much society is not encouraging this Freddie Mercury’s wanting to break free mantra, as if it became the “forbidden fruit” throughout the years. Seeking for something that is not working 9:00 to 17:00, paying the mortgage, etc. is considered foolish, reckless immature and sometimes even out of line.

People who aim towards travels in multiple stages in life are often associated with instability, confusion, and god knows what other nonsense.”Grow up they say”… never understood why, why grow up when you can grow free and up together at once? It doesn’t contradict you know…

Best solution when wanting to break a little (or a lot) free in my experience is travelling.

The importance of travelling in human life and its contribution to so many aspects of life starts with exposure to new cultures, cuisines, education, people and friends, and even self-development, inner peace, and can improve one’s health.

Travelling also exposes people to nature, and teaches them to let go of things that don’t serve them anymore. this process mainly allowing us to have an objective perspective over our lives and choices. So many winning in one choice – to travel choice.

New cultures new understandings while Travelling

New cultures while travelling

“The customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social groups” is one definition of culture. Being exposed to multiple cultures enriches our mind, perspective, thoughts and eventually attitude and actions.

The understanding that we are all living creatures but sometimes have different ways to express life is so valuable to the level of togetherness and understanding…I personally think that if people traveled more there was greater opportunity to world serenity and peace as humanity main disadvantage throughout history had always exposed itself through lack of empathy nor acceptance of difference as legitimate.

Once we are exposed to legitimate other forms of living in travels we can easily come to the realization that someone that is different than me or my tribe has the right to co-exist. We get that understanding through traveling.

Traveling makes us open-minded to step out of our comfort zone to a whole new world and its diversities.

Cuisines – they are what they eat and you see it on your travels

Travelling exposes us to new cusiines

Food is a big part of life. It has been like that since day one of all living species. It is printed in our DNA and is expressed in so many forms of our behavior. So yes, when we travel we are exposed to a unique expression of very basic deep nature of the cultures we encounter.

Travelling allows us to get familiar with local cuisines and moreover to connect and communicate through it alongside having the opportunity to try out new marvelous and authentic delicacies. A culinary fiesta.

The colorful experience of flavors, scents, how food is being cooked, who cooks it, foods you haven’t seen before and even the way a table is being set expands your point of view and knowledge of the place you’re travelling in.

Food is very primal and as such very rewarding so what can be better than traveling to new places, meeting new people, providing all this “food for soul” and then providing some rewarding actual food for our bodies with a cultural twist? Wonderful.

Food while traveling is one of the most rewarding experiences while vise versa traveling while eating makes the experience as double magical. Win-win.

Education, cause knowledge empowers

Get smarter while Travelling

Traveling makes us educated full stop. Through multiversal encounters with different economies, geography, lifestyles, history, customs, habits and other cultural out brings we learn and expand our knowledge.

Yes, we can learn this knowledge from watching history channel on tv, books, etc. but by observation while traveling we not only “learn” about life but rather live life. Our education instantly becomes a source of empowerment, the more we travel, the more we explore and the more we explore the wiser we get and with wisdom comes power-good solid positive power.

Power to know what we want, power to make it happen, power to actually live the life we aim for in our hearts and by traveling we also learn to distinguish between our true will and adjust to changes more quickly and effectively. We even embrace the unfamiliar and the unexpected till they become a natural part of our life.

Making new friends while Travelling

Making new friends is fun while Travelling

International friends making is the best, and travelling makes it possible. Meeting a wide range of people not only provides us pleasure and a sense of unity but also allows us to “pick” the exact right friends for our social circle.

By traveling we are not limited to one place geographically and therefore not limited to one culture or modern tribe. Those among us who are interested in a different type of friendship will more likely get the chance to meet them while traveling as not limited to “their” area.

We should never compromise on our friends, as those are the family we actually choose for ourselves. Good and “accurate” friends are correlated with authentic happiness and fulfillment as one is not obligated to certain social indications and is not being threatened to “be left alone” if will not obey to social codes behavior in one’s origin society.

Travelling allows us to be ourselves and be loved as being ourselves and not something someone else’s wanted us to be. Pleasing is good on a very basic level but not as a daily chore.

Having new friends will also expand your potential work environment and will enable you to get closer to be doing more of the things you love through the right social connections as good network. Traveling does that. All of that.

Self-realization, and development through Travelling

Self-realization, and development through Travelling

Personal growth is so important, and traveling gives us the opportunity to do so.

In order to actually grow body and spirit, we need to…Well, understand ourselves, desires needs and especially how to get there. In daily life while having a routine it is very challenging to step out of the box and actually ask ourselves who we are, what we want to become and how are we going to make it happen, but when traveling the horizon not only opens to us physically but also mentally.

Research shows that when we’re exposed to nature and different cultures our neurons work in optimum capacity – we literally think clearer and happier. In order to know what we want we need clear “plain” site, for an objective perspective which we get while exploring the world.

Another prospect to take under consideration is the stepping out of our comfort zone, as comfort we all know can be very numbing and being comfortably numb isn’t necessarily a good thing for self-realization and growth. Being “out there” on the other hand might be challenging but also very rewarding as we create more from there.

Traveling also helps us realize the general international society needs and by that, we are more likely to invent something that will have a bigger impact and success on our career, creation, wealth and moreover-satisfaction. Badass traveling right?

Travelling helps you get Inner peace

Travelling helps you get Inner peace

So much pressure, so little time to relax. Stress has become somewhat granted and it makes me somewhat worried. People these days use the word stress as if it means “eat” or “shop”. Urbanic life tediously mixed with the competitive environment creates a very unpeaceful mode to day living. And that’s where traveling enters.

It may seem rather sad to realize that in order to get real healthy inner peace we actually need to get ourselves out of urban routine. Yup going on travels will necessarily provide us with that exact desirable piece of mind for general well being.

Once we are at peace our body works so much better – health, strength, and ease. When one travels one can put the past where it belongs, embrace the future and moreover live in present. To be present in the “here and now” means to enjoy life while we’re at it and not in retro perspective as most people do. Life will not happen tomorrow after you sort this, life is happening now while you sort this…

Researchers have shown that elders most common regret was that they didn’t live the life wanted for themselves, wishing they had worked less, travel more and basically regret for not  “smelling those roses” on the island of inner peace.

Travel will reveal this imaginary island and will enable a full living experience. It will expand your mind, thoughts, will and self-esteem and all this greatness with the calmness needed for the process.

Travelling as Health improver

Travelling as Health improver

Healthy life is desirable to all that’s no secret. Most people would wanna maybe not live forever but be as healthy as possible while they are still here. The problem is that there are no shortcuts in healthy living. We all want to be healthy but not willing to take the extra mile for it.

Traveling is a fantastic place to start from as while traveling we are more active as default and more aware of our daily habits as very much self-centered. Sightseeing is also very healthy as being around nature and new horizons calm our brains and restless minds and by that strengthening our nerve and immune system. We travel we grow stronger.

Traveling also makes us more creative and by that happier and happiness sits in the reward mechanism. The neurotransmitter dopamine is being released more often and contributes to good solid health – mentally and physically – what a marvelous orchestra of health!

So yes ladies and gents, please do travel. It does not have to be to the end of your world geographically. It can be an hour away from where you live, as long as you take yourself, the creatures you love(dog highly recommended), some water with fresh food and a peaceful song at heart. You deserve it! after all, you’re the best version of yourself.

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”
