Fitness as Goal or Way of Living
What is it that makes us fit? Is it the gym we go to? The personal trainer? Or perhaps the crazy fitness programs we find through the internet…
Well, in my case it’s this sense fire inside which keeps moving me forward towards my fitness goal – my way of living.
So back to you, us…
You have decided to get up from your couch and signed up for the local gym, first of all well done but what’s now?, well… now you’ll probably hear “do this 10 exercises twice a week and you’ll be just like him-ish”.
So you start. Even bring a friend with.. cause you don’t want to suffer alone ;)… yes, suffer- know that word? what a certain percentage of society refers to sport activity in general… then after couple of weeks you’re starting to feel good and pumped up, but, truth to be told you haven’t done SH** yet in order to get fit or getting that fitness goal of yours. Appearing strong does not necessarily means being strong… oh I meant fit… look what GYM does to me…
This whole pumping up strength into our heads instead of fitness has gotten us confused … so lets make it clear – Strength IS a part of fitness-but not the whole…
Fitness is achieved while keeping your head in-it. first you should look at what you eat, choose a diet that will be suiting your standards (and NOT one of those starvation diet pls), find yourself a companion to workout with at the gym (highly recommended), share your reflections about training and nutrition, reset your daily schedule so that it would correlate with work, train, meals etc.
Although all of the above is awesome, the most important matter is finding a sport- activity that you would find enjoyable enough to start liking it… it can be anything from Tennis to Running, Swimming or Football, Crossfit or Gym, whatever you can think of- just do it, workout as hard as you can and I’m sure eventually you will ask yourself “how could I have lived without it???”.
Love your fitness and it will love you 10 times more.
Now, you may not like the first sport-activity or workout you will do in the beginning, but remember – set your goals high and keep trying new stuff, along the way it will happen and you’ll fall in love with the path you chose, then the road to your fitness will be wide open and the ride you were waiting for such a long time will be one hell of a ride.
Get lost, try new stuff, hell even take a small break here and there to observe, but remember- Enjoy the path cause achieving will feel real thanks to what you gained but also to what you’ve come through.
Inspirational words! Success in fitness is definitely rooted in enjoying the activity you are doing.
